Project Duration: From November 1, 2025 to April 30, 2027 (according to the funding agreement).
Location: A Luoi 1 Commune and A Luoi 2 Commune, Hue City, Vietnam.
Overall Project Objective: The project aims to promote sustainable livelihood models based on the green economy and circular economy, led by women in A Luoi 1 and A Luoi 2 communes. This will be achieved through the transformation of degraded land into organic aquaculture and medicinal herb cultivation models linked to market demand, thereby contributing to income improvement, environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and gender equality promotion.
Project Components Include:
– Supporting ethnic minority women and local households in transitioning from ineffective farming practices on degraded land to environmentally friendly organic aquaculture and medicinal herb cultivation models.
– Enhancing the capacity and knowledge of women (particularly Pa Co and Ta Oi women) on Nature-based Solutions (NbS), Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), circular economy approaches, and group management and operational skills.
– Providing equipment and technologies to support sustainable production, including water quality monitoring toolkits for aquaculture ponds, drip irrigation systems, and environmentally friendly machinery upgrades for local enterprises.
– Strengthening value chain linkages and promoting local products through support for branding, packaging, customer information platforms and websites, communication activities, and market connections for products sourced from indigenous raw material areas.
